Patents outline innovative methods for making intelligent networking decisions for configuring, managing and monitoring network resources in closed loop manner
MENLO PARK, CA, - October 23, 2007 - Intelliden, a leading provider of Intelligent Networking solutions that enable organizations to control, manage and scale their networks, has been awarded three U.S. patents for policy based networking. Together these patents enable the ability to receive requests, make intelligent network decisions and send notifications in a closed-loop policy compliant manner for dynamic multi-vendor networks. These patents bring Intelliden’s portfolio of issued patents to 11 with over 20 pending.
Essential Underpinnings for Policy Based Networking
These patents describe the Intelliden technology for:
• Receiving requests from 3rd party applications, network devices and human users
• Making intelligent decisions for configuring, managing and monitoring network resources (e.g. routers, optical devices and storage devices) in compliance with one or more network policies in a dynamic multi-vendor network environment
• Using programmable templates for automating device-specific commands
• Publishing of change notifications after the completion of requests (e.g. on an event bus)
Intelliden’s latest patents, in conjunction with its other patents, form the essential underpinnings of its Intelligent Networking solutions including its recently launched Policy Based Compliance Management application.
“Ten years ago the idea of making day to day network decisions in an automated, policy compliant manner was a pipe dream,” said Glen Tindal, CTO and co-founder of Intelliden. “Intelliden was the first company to pioneer the technology for standardizing and automating network changes in complex multi-vendor environments. And now we have pushed the envelope further by ensuring that all network changes—irrespective of the device type and complexity as well as source of requests—can be made in a policy compliant closed loop manner.”
About the Patents:
Intelliden's U.S. patent (#7,249,170) describes a system for the configuration, management and monitoring of network resources. The other two patents (#7,246,163) and (#7,246,162) outline a system for configuring a network device.
Intelliden has assembled a high degree of networking experience and knowledge. This collective experience has led to over 30 granted and pending patents filed worldwide. From its founding, the company has devoted considerable resources to its ongoing commitment to developing Intellectual Property. The issued patents and patents pending are a reflection and foundation to that commitment.
