Sciences' Enhanced Services Platform to Provide Total Communications Solution

Oracle has announced that it has joined forces with Call Sciences, a leading
provider of call management applications and value-added communication
services, to bring a powerful new unified call management solution to the
The solution gives service providers the ability to deliver fully
integrated, web based, call and message management services to their
customers. Oracle and Call Sciences gave a live demonstration of the
solution at Oracle's main booth at Oracle OpenWorld '97 last week. By
combining the comprehensive message management capabilities of Oracle's
web-based database messaging product, Oracle InterOffice, with the
sophisticated call management features of Call Sciences' flagship product,
Personal Assistant, the companies are able to provide a solution with fully
integrated voice, e-mail and fax message delivery capabilities.
Personal Assistant is a single number service that links all of a user's
phone numbers (office, mobile, home), fax numbers and pagers to a single
number and makes it easy for users to stay in touch with callers anywhere in
the world. The integration with Oracle InterOffice, through industry
standard APIs, extends the capabilities of Personal Assistant to provide
Unified Messaging (integrated fax, e-mail and voice mailbox) capabilities
which can be accessed and managed via the Internet.
Oracle InterOffice allows voice and fax messages received by Personal
Assistant to be accessed in the home, office or on the move by any
web-enabled device such as a network computer, PC or personal digital
assistant. In addition, notification of e-mail received in the customers'
Unified Mailbox can be sent to the user using the Personal Assistant's
sophisticated search capabilities and can be delivered as a voice message
(using text-to-speech technologies) over a cellular or landline telephone.
