• Peter Kay joins Software Organiser’s Executive team in February 2008, bringing with him many years of industry experience

Ayr, Scotland, 25th February 2008. BCS, the UK leader in licence management software with its market leading tool, Software Organiser, is delighted to announce that it has appointed a new Managing Director with immediate effect.

Peter Kay will take up the company reigns, aggressively driving the organisation forward over the next couple of years. Software Organiser is clearly the market leader in this space and Peter’s remit is to ensure that the company exploits all the market opportunities presented by Software Organiser, as well as building brand awareness and profile for this innovative solution.

Before joining BCS and the Software Organiser team, Peter Kay was Director of Services for FAST Limited. FAST Limited was established in 2000 to run the education scheme established by The Federation - the world's first anti-software piracy organisation, working to protect the intellectual property rights of software publishers (a not-for-profit enforcement body).

With a long and established career in the field of compliance, IT Governance, SAM and licence management, Peter has worked with hundreds of FAST Corporate members over the years, helping them to become compliant and put in place best practice policies and procedures through the FAST Corporate Membership programme. Commenting on his appointment Peter said:

“This is a great opportunity for me to work with the leading licence management tool in the market today and the most experienced people in SAM in the UK. I have been aware of Software Organiser since 2001 and signed the agreement for FAST Consultancy Services to be the UK distributor of the product in 2003 – the only software product FAST has ever promoted or endorsed. I am delighted that I now have the opportunity to evolve this solution, which I believe is technically light years ahead of the market. BCS is a pioneering organisation, with a wealth of technical and SAM expertise and my appointment now means Anton and his team can focus on developing the product and complimentary services further.”

Anton Schnider, previously Managing Director, remains as Technical Director for Software Organiser responsible for all technical aspects of the product, and this includes the design of new services. Andy Fisher remains as New Business Development Director for BCS responsible for direct/indirect product sales, consultancy and training. Andy is firmly focused on continuing to establish new channel partners and opening up opportunities in new markets - both at home and abroad.

Anton Schnider comments: “Peter was instrumental in the development of the FAST Standard for Software Compliance and was on the ISO Working Group that developed ISO/IEC 19770-1 Software Asset Management Processes. This is a great opportunity for us to leverage Peter’s knowledge, experience and contacts to further promote Software Organiser.”

Software Organiser enables companies to qualify, assess, address and reduce the risk of non-compliance through the effective management and tracking of company software licences. This easy-to-use product complements any auditing tool, enabling organisations to implement effective Software Asset Management (SAM) Programmes.

BCS announced the latest version of Software Organiser 4.1 in September 2007 and this provides customers with 80 new feature enhancements, improving usability and compatibility in particular. New features include a ‘Compliance Eye’, which allows users to view their compliance position at a glance. Additionally, ‘Save View’, enables users to move between screens saving all previously selected screens, groups and filters. Software Organiser 4.1 is now Microsoft SQL 2005 compatible, with Vista compatibility planned in early 2008.
