Following the successful implementation of an Extended RAC Cluster in the City of London, DSP has been invited to present to the Oracle World Wide SIG for RAC.

20th of March 2008 – 4pm GMT

Oracle RAC is maturing at an increasing rate, enabling organisations to significantly increase the size of their systems environment without suffering from downtime or disruption to the operational environment.

Historically RAC was limited to machines operating in close proximity, which while still beneficial from a performance and growth perspective, needed an additional solution for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.

Extended RAC provides all the benefits of scalable, hot pluggable systems growth whilst removing the risk associated with hosting systems next door to each other. Extended or Stretched RAC is enabling organisations to achieve even higher levels of systems resilience, whilst immediately matching business growth.

DSP is delighted to be given the opportunity to present at the Global RAC SIG Webcast on the 20th of March 2008.

The theme of the presentation will be based upon “Implementing a Dual Site Extended Distance RAC Cluster" and will be presented by Mr Dev Nayak.

The Presentation will be delivered using a customer case study and will demonstrate the implementation of a 2 sited extended distance RAC Cluster on Linux.

The Architecture Design criteria was to eliminate single points of failure and a single site failure, along with the behavior of the cluster during various test failure scenarios.

Mr. Nayak is a Technical Director at DSP Global and he spends his time working mostly with Oracle E-Business Suite, defining infrastructure architecture and installing, upgrading and securing Oracle systems.

Mr.Nayak is a regular speaker for the UKOUG and has already presented the Extended RAC presentation at the UKOUG Conference in Birmingham in December 2007 - Mr. Nayak has previously chaired the UNIX SIG in the UK.
