Nuffield Hospital Group improves Governance and Risk Management using DATIX software and experiences a 100% increase in reporting of incidents
DATIX chosen after competitive evaluation and pilot for market-leading capabilities and ability to tailor specifically for use across the Nuffield Group
DATIX Ltd has announced that the Nuffield Hospital Group has chosen and implemented its DATIX software following a competitive evaluation of six suppliers.
The aim of the procurement was to support group governance and risk management processes and DATIX was chosen because the evaluation and pilot demonstrated best-in-class performance and the ability to meet diverse reporting and integration requirements across the Nuffield Group. The Group includes over 31 hospitals, plus mobile diagnostics units, health and fitness (having just acquired Cannons Health & Fitness) and stand-alone decontamination centres.
To improve reporting across the whole Group, Nuffield opted for a solution comprising a number of DATIX modules, including Incident Reporting, Risk Register, Complaints Handling and Safety Alerts.

There is also greater management visibility of reports and the ability to analyse trends and learn lessons from incidents and complaints. “It means we can make necessary improvements to reduce risks and improve patient safety,” added Barnett. “Importantly, it saves staff time that can then be spent with patients and colleagues. The feedback in this respect, particularly from our matrons, has been overwhelming.”
