LONDON: Wednesday March 26th 2008 - Unproductive meetings are having a draining effect on UK business productivity - but new meeting software from MeetingSense could help save individual UK workers up to one month per year in improved efficiency.
According to Grant Thornton's recently released (February 2008) UK Workplace Productivity Report, equalling current US productivity levels would result in UK GDP improvements large enough to offer an extra £13,000 per annum to the average UK household. The research also looked at the factors inhibiting productivity and found meeting overload to be number one on the list. In fact, unproductive meetings even figured larger than a lack of technology and poor R&D as the issue currently having the greatest impact on UK productivity improvement.
A possible cure for the problem is thus being provided by a new easy-to-use software application called MeetingSense 2.0. Already gaining significant attention and customers in the US, it dramatically improves meetings by helping to capture, distribute, and then manage notes, action items, and more. Existing MeetingSense customers in the US save up to 7 hours a week - or one month per year - while helping drive total accountability and overall project management success.
According to MeetingSense CEO Gregg Brett: “As the Grant Thornton UK Workplace Productivity Report shows, inefficient meetings are having a hugely detrimental impact on UK business productivity. Contrary to popular experience, meetings don’t have to be a nuisance or a place to catch up on sleep; they can be the information and communication drivers behind an organisation’s success. MeetingSense 2.0 has already demonstrated to US businesses how they can make significant productivity gains through more efficient meetings. With the launch of the software in the UK and Europe, we aim to deliver similar productivity benefits here.”
MeetingSense installs in seconds without any system-wide touch points or IT impact. On first run, MeetingSense automatically pulls in Microsoft Outlook meetings and begins working on its own, so no training is required.
