WHAT: NN/g’s annual Usability Week is back in London in May and is aimed at both web usability beginners and veterans. Courses on offer range from intensive three day sessions to one day hands-on tutorials. Usability Week attracts many of the world’s most successful companies and represents an opportunity to keep up to date with NN/g’s latest research and to learn how to best put their findings into practice.

This full day tutorial illustrates how to design sites that attract customers and motivate them to buy products or services, support your cause, or improve employee success and satisfaction - all in a pleasant, supportive environment that will ensure your site visitors will want to return. This session will be conducted by Bruce ‘Tog’ Tognazzini, world-renowned user interface design guru, who, before the invention of the personal computer, was an award-winning salesperson for 15 years, selling millions of dollars worth of consumer electronics and teaching hundreds of others the secrets of “closing the deal.”

-B2B in a Consumer-Oriented Web World

Exclusive to London and New York, this full day session looks at how consumer-oriented websites such as Facebook, Amazon, Flickr, and Google are setting high expectations for all websites—especially for business-to-business (B2B) and corporate sites, whose customers and internal executive sponsors expect the business web to mirror the ease of use of these consumer world supersites.

Martin Hardee, Director of User Experience Design for and Marliyn Salzman Manager of Web Experience Design at Sun Microsystems, Inc.will share their expertise and techniques on how to apply user-centered design to corporate/B2B websites with real-world case studies.

A 3-day in-depth course gives attendees the practical skills needed to recruit participants, conduct hands-on testing with real users, and turn findings into action items for the design team.The only course prerequisite is a general understanding of and familiarity with the Web. Conducted by Jakob Nielsen, principal of Nielsen Norman Group, Kara Pernice, is the Director of Research at Nielsen Norman Group, Amy Schade is a User Experience Specialist – attendees have 50 years of combined professional usability experience at your disposal.
