Laura Pittson is inundated with help for lost tiara

Since Laura Pittson, national radio and television personality, and soon bride to be, recently mentioned in her wedding blog that she is still on her quest to find a very precious family heirloom to wear on her wedding day, she has been inundated by requests to provide replicas or to help her in her search for the beautiful diamond tiara.

Laura recently found out that her cousin had sold the valuable tiara at a Christies auction because no members of the family at the time were planning to get married. Laura is now searching for the tiara and is hoping that she can borrow it back or even buy it back so that she can wear it for her wedding day in only 6 weeks time! Christies are unable to pass on details as to her bought the tiara, but they have been very helpful in Laura’s quest.

The tiara belonged to Laura’s Step Aunt, the first Lady Tuck. She was married to Sir Bruce in the 50’s – he then went on to marry Laura’s aunt, Nicky Allen (former Miss World contestant and Miss England 1968). Nicky, Laura’s mother Bonnie Lou, and other Aunt Georgie formed part of the famous Allen sisters group. In the sixties there was rarely a TV show that didn't feature one of the Allen sisters as they were regulars on British TV screens, dancing on shows with all the great names, such as, Benny Hill, Sir Norman Wisdom, Joanna Lumley, Nigel Lythgoe, Sue Lloyd, John Pertwee, Dave Allen, David Essex, Cliff Richard, Max Bygraves, and Bruce Forsythe.

Laura has stepped into her family’s show-business shoes, and is a national radio and TV presenter. She also worked as co host on Classic Gold with Tony Blackburn for four years and has been guesting on various shows recently, including a London radio celebrity show commentating on Strictly Come Dancing. Laura is a trained dancer and has dancing lesions with Anton Du Beke.

Laura is getting wed in May this year, so if you know anything about the mystery tiara, please contact Laura through her web-site: or visit her blog at the National Magazine Company:
