Waitrose has renewed its entire store EPOS technology with flexible hardware from Wincor Nixdorf. With the new foundation in place, Waitrose is able to innovate and transform the retail experience.

The refresh was completed in December 2007. Waitrose selected Wincor Nixdorf as the single-source supplier, deploying Wincor Nixdorf Beetle till and Cashbases cash drawer units, chip and pin readers from Trintech (now Verifone), printers from Epson, scanner/scales units from Datalogic, and EPOS software from PCMS.
