Expert judging panel unveiled for the Nobby Travels National Children’s Book Review competition

Husband and wife team, Darren & Julia Spence, are pleased to unveil the names of the expert judging panel that are supporting their “Nobby Travels National Children’s Book Review” competition.

The competition has the full support of the Government, and since its launch by former Blue Peter presenter, Matt Baker, at the world’s most famous toy store, Hamleys, on 20th February 2008, over 10,000 children have already taken part.
Commenting on the competition, Rt Hon Beverley Hughes MP, Minister for Children, Young People and Families said, “I am delighted to lend my support to the Nobby Travels National Children’s Book Review competition. It’s really capturing the imagination of the nation’s children and inspiring many more of them to read for pleasure."

The competition closes on 17th May 2008 after which time a panel of experts will draw up a shortlist of the best 40 reviews. The panel of experts includes:

• Peter Field, CEO, Penguin Books UK
• Jane Turner, Managing Director, Chorion
• Rachel Boden, Senior Editor, Egmont UK
• Judith Bloor, Editor, Headteacher Update Magazine

On 1st June the best 40 reviews will be uploaded on to the website for the public to vote on, with the winner being announced on 1st July 2008. The children with the winning reviews will win prizes for themselves - and up to £1,000 for their school.

Entry forms for the 2008 Nobby Travels Children’s Book Review competition can be downloaded from Children and parents can also approach their Head Teacher and ask them for a copy of the form as it’s in the current edition of Headteacher Update magazine.
