AOL users gain access to Last.fm’s Free-On-Demand Service and Groundbreaking Interactive Music Discovery Features
Partnership Complements Recent Deal Between AOL and CBS Radio in the U.S.
London, 7 May 2008 – AOL and Last.fm today announced a partnership whereby Last.fm will power the relaunch of AOL Europe’s online radio platform.
The engagement of AOL Radio users with Last.fm’s 21 million global visitors, will create a truly powerful online music community. The service is initially available in France, Germany and the UK with plans to roll out across Europe in the coming months.
AOL Radio users will benefit from a host of exciting new features and engaging multi media options. The Last.fm powered site (radio.aol.co.uk) allows AOL users to search for artists and listen to a continuous stream of their music or that from similar artists.
Last.fm will enable AOL Radio users in Germany and the UK to repeatedly listen to any track they hear via Last.fm’s free-on-demand service.
Launched in January, the service offers music fans access to millions of tracks for full-length streaming. AOL Radio users also have the option of launching their own stations based on an extensive range of music genres.
Alongside the streamed music stations, AOL Radio listeners will have access to extra content including videos, pictures and event listings, and discover new music through the recommendations of other users.

Today’s announcement complements a recently announced deal between AOL and CBS Radio in the U.S., effectively resulting in AOL, Last.fm and CBS Radio delivering the largest online listening audience in the world.
