Child with Wi-Safe Warning Handset

FireAngel joins big name brands like Black & Decker, Unibond and Bayer Garden as a gold winner at the 2008 DIY industry awards. FireAngel’s Wi-Safe, wireless home safety system incredibly polled the highest points score at the event.

The brief given to the judges was simple: look for genuinely innovative products that are well made and well presented, and which deliver a real user benefit. And most importantly of all, look for prices that are right for the market. Wi-Safe ticked all the boxes.

Paul Oughton, Assistant Chief Officer for Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said, “I would like to congratulate FireAngel on their prestigious DIY Week award for Wi-Safe smoke alarms.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service is currently in the process of signing up to this innovative product for installation as part of our programme of Home Fire Safety Checks and this award clearly demonstrates the value of doing so.

“We look forward to working with FireAngel in the future.”

It sounds incredible but a standard smoke alarm may not wake 94% of children aged 6-15 in a house fire, because the sound fails to wake them. The elderly, infirm or simply heavy sleepers are also more at risk and may not wake up in the event of a fire.

The Gold Award winning Wi-Safe alarm system was designed to solve this problem. When a fire is detected the Wi-Safe handset wakes you up sooner, buying you precious seconds and helping you to get out.

Most people test a smoke or CO alarm when awake and have no real idea if they would actually hear or how they would react late at night to the sound of a smoke or CO detectors or how disorientated you would become without the use of an escape torch.

The key to Wi-Safe is the warning handset. The portable handset can be placed anywhere in your home but typically by your bed. If a Wi-Safe smoke alarms or Wi-safe CO alarms elsewhere in your home the handset will automatically alarm and flash by your bedside. Now that you are awake you need to get out. By removing the handset from its base it automatically converts to an escape torch to help you and your family escape any danger, with an intermittent sound to act as a locator in the event that you are overcome by fumes.

Installation could not be simpler, The Wi-Safe detectors are battery operated with the portable handset simply moved and plugged into a normal household plug socket anywhere needed in the house. You can install detectors or handsets in as many rooms as you like and takes a matter of minutes to be ready and protecting what you value most.
