European Sales University reinforces ‘investment in people’ principle

Chessington, Surrey – Specialist value-added distributor, Bell Micro today announced that is has launched an internal University based staff development programme. The initiative, available to all employees across Europe, has been designed to accelerate career opportunities and works to reinforce the company’s commitment to attracting, and retaining, the best people in the industry.

The programme has been developed with extensive input from the management team and is designed to provide every sales and product employee with a timetable of classroom based learning. The expectation is that skill sets and existing knowledge bases will be enhanced, providing staff with the confidence and motivation to achieve personal career goals.

The format runs through a complete induction programme to specialist solution workshops, 1-2-1 coaching sessions and bespoke personal development plans. Linked to the Institute of Sales & Marketing Management, the “Professional Sales Qualification” syllabus that is being followed also ensures that each graduating member of the Bell Micro University will secure an internationally recognised qualification.

Bell Micro believes that the University approach will also benefit its customers who are always looking for ways to maximise margins whilst growing and developing their businesses. By effectively articulating, in close conjunction with reseller partners, what best-of-breed industry solutions can do to solve real business issues, Bell Micro will continue to be uniquely placed to provide support to its partner and vendor audiences in areas such as sales, marketing and technical pre and post sales support.

As market demands and customer needs change, vendors are recognising that there is a need to move from the more traditional product and price centric sales approach to one that articulates the business value of their offerings. This is where Bell Micro will provide significant experience.

Run across three days, all participants will learn more detail around various aspects of their day to day jobs as well as being encouraged to identify areas of improvement in their own roles. Individuals showing particular strengths in their field will also be identified as potential candidates for a global leadership programme that is being run in conjunction with Bell Micro US. In fact, there is a lot of confidence that this initiative will uncover some true ‘rising stars’ within the organisation, which without this support may have not had the valuable opportunity to shine so quickly.
