Series 2 of the popular children’s books, Nobby Travels, made famous by husband & wife authors Darren & Julia Spence when they appeared on the hit BBC show Dragons’ Den last October, is to be made exclusively available to customers as eBooks from the website

The decision to launch the series as eBooks is a bold one as although the eBook marketplace is growing, publishers of children’s books have been slow to embrace the growing popularity of downloadable books.

Commenting on the move Darren said, “The book publishing market is flat and has been so for the past few years. The reason for this is that people’s habits are changing; leisure time is at an all time premium and much of the free time that people do have, they are choosing to spend online. It’s important therefore that publishers of all genres recognise this and respond to the changing needs of the consumer. This is exactly what we’re doing with this launch. Launching Nobby Travels Series 2 as downloadable eBooks means parents and children can enjoy the books immediately, giving them; on-demand access to the stories, greater flexibility, and much better value for money.”

In addition to launching Nobby Travels Series 2 as eBooks, the first series will also be available for download giving customers the chance to access all 10 titles for just £9.99.

Spence concludes, “The site will be of increasingly greater importance to us over the coming months as we’ll soon be giving visitors to the site the chance to order a range of Nobby Travels merchandising including customisable calendars, greetings cards and lots lots more, driving deeper customer loyalty and increasing traffic to the site.

The eBooks are part of a wider retail strategy we have and we’re very excited about the future.”
