Reviewers Commend ThreatWall over 15 of eSoft’s Competitors: “The type of solid offering you would expect from eSoft”

Broomfield, Colo. – 2 June 2008 – eSoft, Inc., a leading vendor of integrated Internet security and content management solutions, announced today that its ThreatWall 450 has received SC Magazine’s esteemed “Best Buy” award. The product also received 5 out of 5 stars for the second year in a row, most recently in the publication’s Email Content Management product group test (June 2008).

eSoft’s ThreatWall was also one of only three products (out of 16 total) in the review to receive 5 out of 5 stars in every category evaluated: Features, Performance, Ease of Use, Documentation, Support, and Value for Money. eSoft’s ThreatWall was up against Email Content Management solutions from Clearswift, GFi, IBM, Marshal, MessageGate, Optenet, Red Earth Software, SECNAP Network Security Corporation, Secure Computing, SonicWALL, Sophos, SpamTitan, Sunbelt Software, Symantec and Tumbleweed Communications.

Reviewers start praising the ThreatWall immediately in the product’s published review: “eSoft ThreatWall is a full scale email content management appliance with several excellent features. This appliance is loaded with the Email ThreatPak, which includes an email content filter. This filter can be configured for attachment stripping, keyword filtering from preloaded or custom word lists, and expression matching. Aside from the content filter, this tool also can control spam and offer protection from viruses, spyware, trojans and worms.”

The review continues, highlighting other areas in which the ThreatWall excels:

• Management simplicity: “As we have seen many times in the past, this product is simple from setup through management. All management and configuration is done from the web-based GUI, which is quite intuitive to navigate and use.”

• Email content control: “With features such as Active Directory, Microsoft Outlook integration and solid compliance offerings, this product delivers excellent email content control. The filter can meet requirements for GLB, SOX, HIPAA, and PCI.”

• Flexibility: “Email can also be quarantined or forwarded for review by the administrator. Since this product sits inline and monitors both inbound and outbound communication, it is able to stop all possible threats.”

Reviewers summed up the review with the following comment, “For: Comprehensive feature set that is easy to configure and manage.” As for marks against the product, reviewers couldn’t come up with any: “Against: none that we found.” Reviewers concluded the ThreatWall summary with: “Verdict: The type of solid offering you would expect from eSoft at a very good price. We make it our Best Buy.”

ThreatWall has been named an Industry Innovator by SC Magazine and has also been awarded the publication’s “Recommended” honour three times since 2006.
