European Fishing Tackle Trade Association Updates Its Database Systems
London – 2nd June 2008 – Spring Digital is currently revamping The European Fishing Tackle Trade Association’s (EFTTA) membership and exhibition management system, making it more dynamic and flexible. EFTTA is also working with Spring on an online ticket printing system to enable faster registration at its 27th exhibition, EFTTEX – the biggest fishing exhibition this side of the Atlantic - which this year takes place in Rome from 13th to 15th June.
Launched in London in 1981, EFTTA is the Trade Association for Manufacturers and Wholesalers of sportfishing equipment globally. Spring took over the management and support of its database in 2003, which are the underlying systems for EFTTA’s operations. Running on a bespoke Microsoft Access database, Spring advised EFTTA that due to legacy code, and the increased complexity of ad hoc bolt-ons the database was becoming less standardised and robust. This year Spring is replacing the system with a fresh .NET business application that is stable, modern and eliminates many of the old system’s redundant features.
Janet Doyle, General Manager of EFTTA, explains: “We have hundreds of members with new ones joining all the time. It is therefore vital that our system can stand up to this continuous rapid growth. With Spring’s help we are developing a system that will now grow with us and is ready for our yearly exhibition. We have also worked with Spring to introduce an online ticket printing system, linked to our database, that will enable a faster registration for all attendees.
“Having Spring work with us over the last five years, supporting our systems and now designing this new solution, means we can concentrate on our core business. IT support is crucial for all parts of the business so having a company that can be relied upon speaks for itself! Also they provide us with a dedicated expert who attends the event and provides us with support that is second to none – they really do go that extra mile to provide the best service.”
Gary Thompson, Managing Director of Spring, comments: “We work with companies from every sector providing the very best service. Building bespoke applications for our clients is part of that service. We help our clients compete in bigger markets because they have the technology to support them. EFTTA promotes itself globally and we believe supporting it with our ethos of Service Obsession™ ensures their continued growth and success.”
