Interxion Backs ‘Future of the Data Centre’ Conference
LONDON, June 10, 2008 – Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral data centres, today announced its sponsorship of Information Age’s annual ‘Future of the Data Centre’ conference, taking place today in London’s Novotel St Pancras Hotel.
Now in its fourth year, the conference has established itself as a leading event on data centre management. This year’s focus is on the challenges of refitting, modernizing or even rebuilding data centres in response to both business pressures and technological innovation.
Interxion’s support extends beyond sponsorship to the provision of industry analysis and active participation in key elements of the conference programme. One conference session, ‘Data Centre Future Requirements: IDC Data Centre Survey Pan European Results Review’, will explore trends in power and cooling infrastructure and other areas that have been identified in a pan European survey conducted by IDC on behalf of Interxion. Presented by Greg McCulloch, Managing Director, Interxion UK, the session will also highlight best practice for meeting these new requirements, based on Interxion’s experience in building and operating 22 data centres across Europe.
“As new technology drives more data at higher speeds to more people, we believe that dedicated providers of data centre services like Interxion represent the most scalable and reliable option for customers,” said Dick Theunissen, Interxion Chief Marketing Officer.
“Interxion is one of a handful of carrier-neutral data centre providers with the dedicated expertise, infrastructure and track record to show the way forward in data centre design and management, and we believe that our active involvement in developing new solutions will help us maintain this leadership.”
