Wincor Nixdorf predicts rise in recycling of precious metals

Wincor Nixdorf can help retailers handle precious metals: a new generation of self-checkout systems that recycle cash.

Tower Line 150 is a new modular solution from Wincor Nixdorf’s range of automated checkout solutions.
The Wincor Nixdorf Tower Line 150 self-checkout unit features advanced cash recycling. Within the single unit, notes and coins used for payment are checked, sorted and stored, and re-used to provide change. The Tower Line 150 dramatically reduces the need for expensive manual sorting and counting, and helps reduce the total number of security cash collection visits to the store.

Helen Wilde, Solutions Sales Director, Retail Division at Wincor Nixdorf, comments, "Tower Line 150 is a cutting-edge solution in the field of automated checkouts, combining exceptional customer value and superior productivity with reduced cash handling costs."

The Tower Line 150 is exceptionally quick – much faster than a cashier counting out change. With the internal cash recycling removing the need for frequent replenishment, it provides almost continuous operation. The Tower Line 150 may be attached to a wide range of Wincor Nixdorf self-checkout systems, suitable for diverse retail environments such as supermarkets, d-i-y, cash-and-carry and many more.

Helen Wilde, Solutions Sales Director at Wincor Nixdorf UK, adds, “Intelligent cash recycling within stores can cut costs and offer considerable carbon footprint reductions. Fewer cash deliveries are needed, greatly reducing energy expenses. Retailers adopting these techniques will increase their green performance, and should see direct benefits to the bottom line. World-leading cash recycling solutions from Wincor Nixdorf can make all this happen.”

Tower Line 150 may be configured as an express checkout with one-, two- or three-bag options, and offers an intuitive user interface. The system offers an enhanced customer experience combined with lower operational costs, and the first implementations are proceeding during Retail Solutions 2008.

Wincor Nixdorf offers consultancy, services, software and technologies designed to help retailers create an excellent customer experience. From signage to cash-handling, Wincor Nixdorf helps retail operations of all sizes with payment solutions of every type.
