Calibre HR & Training has partnered with Playing for Success Kent to sponsor the Kent Spitfires Study Centre, at the St Lawrence Cricket Ground in Canterbury, and three other learning zones at sporting venues in the county. These are based at Ebbsfleet United Football Club, Buckmore Park Kart Circuit and Margate Football Club.

As part of Playing for Success Kent, the centres give local children the opportunity to take part in fun, educational activities outside of school hours. Children attend the centre one evening a week for six weeks. As well as raising standards in literacy, numeracy and ICT, the programmes have dramatically helped to improve self-esteem and the confidence of the children who attend.

Tara Lloyd, director of Calibre HR & Training, says: “The Kent Spitfires Study Centre has a great track-record in increasing motivation, confidence, self-worth and independent learning. We are delighted to be able to lend our support and look forward to working with the team to help all of the county’s study centres continue to grow and develop.”

Craig Riley, from Playing for Success Kent, says: “We are delighted that businesses such as Calibre HR & Training see the benefits of supporting educational initiatives like Playing for Success. It is through partnerships like this that all of the centres can continue to develop and improve their facilities, enabling the young people of Kent to achieve their full potential. Our aim is to give children the best opportunities in life, while enhancing key skills that will benefit them in the future. We all welcome Calibre HR & Training on board.”
