SuccessFactors Deployed to Senior Managers Globally, Across 65 Operating Entities

Munich, Germany – July 15, 2008 – SuccessFactors, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFSF), the global leader in on-demand performance and talent management solutions, today announced that Allianz Group, one of the world’s leading providers of insurance, banking and asset management, has adopted the SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite across its 65 operating entities. This initiative is part of the strategic drive of the company’s management team to gain a consistent view of internal talent within the group, and to support a single talent management architecture.

The Allianz Group is one of the leading global services providers in insurance, banking and asset management. With approximately 180,000 employees worldwide, the Allianz Group serves more than 80 million customers in about 70 countries. On the insurance side, Allianz is the market leader in the German market and has a strong international presence. Allianz is also one of the world’s largest asset managers, with third-party assets of €765 billion under management at year end 2007. In fiscal 2007, the Allianz Group achieved total revenues of over €102 billion.

“We have a complex structure and have intensively evaluated seven different vendors in the market,” said Sabine Goesch, senior vice president, global talent management for Allianz Group. “This is a board level initiative and we wanted a champion in the market that understood how to support global deployments in a complex context. The new talent management approach is based on one talent language and process, one talent management architecture and a competency model that satisfies the requirements of our board, particularly with regards to matching talent demand with supply and managing talent quality and risks. We selected SuccessFactors because it can support our global approach.”

Allianz has now started the rollout of the SuccessFactors 360 Degree Review, which is based on the Allianz competency model, and SuccessFactors Succession Planning module across all 65 operating entities for managers and leaders. The new talent management approach is a business-driven, integrated process covering discussions around performance/potential portfolios, current/future fit planning, competency assessments against roles, etc. The SuccessFactors modules have been deployed in English and German and have generated both Talent Key Performance Indicators, as well as a reporting engine for the board. Moving forward, Allianz is assessing additional SuccessFactors modules, such as Goal Management and Compensation, for deployment to a broader employee base.

“The cost of recruiting external talent, especially in large complex organisations can be extremely expensive, so identifying internal talent across 65 different operating companies can make a huge difference to the bottom line. We work with some of the world’s largest and most successful organisations and have an in-depth understanding of how to support and manage talent, performance and succession planning in a complex, globally dispersed and integrated environment,” said Lars Dalgaard, CEO of SuccessFactors.

“We’re excited to be working with the Allianz Group, as we have been committed to growing our presence in Europe for a long time, with methodical investments to realize our dream of becoming the strongest, more reliable and trusted brand to consider when buying business applications. As demonstrated at Allianz, we are finding European companies with board and C-level initiatives to transform their talent and people performance – and SuccessFactors is ready to deliver, with local, native-speaking sales and product experts, reference customers from the regions, and localized products. We expect a lot from Europe in the near and long-term, and look forward to our upcoming European User Conference, which was demanded by our customers.”

Jay Larson, vice president of global enterprise sales, said, “We have made a big investment in Germany and Europe in general over the last 4 years. With a European founder we have always been ambitious about Europe, so the product was built from the start to work effortlessly in Europe as well as across the world. Partnering with not only one of Germany’s, but the world’s most exciting and reputable companies, is the latest reward of this global strategy.”

The SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite, which includes Performance Management, Goal Management, 360 Degree Reviews, Succession Management, Compensation Management, Learning and Development, Recruiting Management, Employee Profile, and Analytics and Reporting applications, creates a company-wide network of information related to employee performance, including skill-sets, interests, career aspirations, ability to relocate, experience, languages spoken and more. By providing deep, real-time, company-wide visibility into such critical performance data, companies are able to make better, more informed decisions about how to promote, recruit, compensate, reward and manage their entire employee base.
