Bluebeam Security takes on Lyke Wake Challenge to raise funds and awareness for child internet safety Thursday 17 July 2008 PDF Print 17th July 2008: Today, NetOp Tech Ltd is proudly supporting one of its key partners – Bluebeam Security LLP – in their attempt to tackle the Lyke Wake Challenge this Sunday, July 19th. The crew from Bluebeam is walking to raise money for the charity Childnet, who campaign for safer internet usage for children. The Lyke Wake Walk is a 40 mile crossing of the North Yorkshire moors along its main east-west watershed, which Bluebeam are hoping to cross in under 12 hours – but could take up to a full day. All staff will be involved, with 4 (pictured) doing the actual walking, and the rest providing backup & provisions at various stop points along the route. Crew member Neville Gibbons, emphasises the importance of choosing a charity where donations go directly into education and child protection projects; “kids are trusting, curious and keen to explore the opportunities that Internet access provides, and the relationships it brings. It is vital that children receive the right supervision and common-sense advice that will become the standard for how they look at the Internet elsewhere. We’re doing our bit to support Childnet, who do just this.” For more information on how Bluebeam, Netop and additional sponsor Observe are helping with child safety online - or to support by donating - go to: www.bbesafe.com ENDS For more information on this fundraising expedition please contact: Vikki Chowney Six Degrees Vikki.email@example.com 01628 480280 Notes to editors: About Childnet Childnet works to make the Internet a great and safe place for children.
