British Hairdressing Business Awards Finalists Announced Friday 18 July 2008 PDF Print With a record number of outstanding entries in all 13 categories, the British Hairdressing Business Awards has announced the finalists for 2008. Recognising and rewarding excellence in all aspects of business practice, the awards are now celebrating their tenth anniversary, and year-on-year have grown in stature, rewarding the entrepreneurial expertise of the UK’s leading hairdressers. “The standard, quality and quantity of entries produced this year was exceptional,” comments Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Hairdressers Journal International, Jayne Lewis-Orr. “The number of entries in all categories has increased tremendously and each year the judges job gets harder and harder. The UK produces so many fantastic hairdressing businesses and the British Hairdressing Business Awards recognises their business skills and acumen.” The judging process is held over two days, with two representatives from each of the sponsors – Wella Professionals, Schwarzkopf Professional, Fudge, Racoon International, Clynol Salon Exclusive, REM, TIGI, L’Oreal Professionnel, Great Lengths, Kemon, Kerastase and Welonda taking part in the first day. Judges cannot confer with one another during the judging process, with the individual judges marking all entries independently. The top six entries in each category are put forward to the next round of the judging process. An independent panel of judges then judge these dossiers. The judges go through the same process as before marking each entry individually. In some categories, salons may receive mystery client visits or calls, and one-to-one interview sessions with the finalists of Junior of the Year, Manager of the Year and Business Director of the Year will take place. The winners of all 13 categories will be announced at a glittering black tie event hosted by a leading media personality on Monday 8th September 2008 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Hairdressers Journal International, Jayne Lewis-Orr, concludes, “The passion and professionalism of the businesses who entered the British Hairdressing Business Awards is a credit to the hairdressing industry and everyone who has achieved finalist status can be justifiably proud.” The Finalists Customer Care Award Sponsored by Kerastase Hair Oasis, Pitsea Hooker & Young, Jesmond Maxwells Professional Hairdressing, Biggleswade Migele Experience, Kirkcaldy The Chapel, Tunbridge Wells The Colour Room, Stockport Pure Aveda Lifestyle, Swansea Junior of the Year Sponsored by Fudge Lauren Arstall, The Colour Room, Stockport Daniel Bonnar, Hooker & Young, Jesmond Joshua Goldsworthy, Goldsworthy, Swindon Niki Moores, Michael Van Clarke LLP, London Ellie Stevens, seanhanna, London Jake Unger, hob, London Manager of the Year Sponsored by L’Oreal Profesionnel William Foran, Hair 4 U, Chorley Tracy McCullough, Zoology, Wanstead Victor Pajak, Headquarters, Kingston Louise Smith, Toni & Guy, Salisbury Hannah Thomas, Mamouchi, Truro Mark Wooley, Electric, Brighton Salon Design Award Sponsored by Welonda hob, London Ikasu, Stourbridge Lara Johnson Lifestyle, Swansea The Chapel, Tunbridge Wells The Lounge, Brentwood Reds Hair & Beauty, Sunderland Salon Team of the Year Sponsored by Racoon International Barrie Stephen Hair, Leicester Gina Conway Aveda Lifestyle Salon, London Headquarters Hair Salon, Kingston Mamouchi, Truro Maxwells Professional Hairdressing & Beauty, Biggleswade Review, Petersfield Independent Salon – Business Newcomer Sponsored by Great Lengths Andrea Beers, Kidderminster hug8, Uxbridge Ikasu, Stourbridge Louisa Snowsill, London Sutherland & Barnett, Nottingham The Lounge, Brentwood Training Award Sponsored by Wella Professionals Marc Antoni, Henley-on-Thames Ellen Conlin Hair & Beauty, Glasgow Keith Hall Hairdressing, Long Eaton Hair Ott, Cosham hob, London Maxwells Professional Hairdressing & Beauty, Biggleswade Michael Van Clarke LLP, London Salon of the Year 1 Sponsored by Schwarzkopf Professional Cream, Gloucester Goldsworthy’s, Swindon Mark Leeson Hair Body & Mind, Mansfield Maxwells Professional Hairdressing & Beauty, Biggleswade The Chapel, Tunbridge Wells The Colour Room, Stockport Salon of the Year 2 Sponsored by Clynol Salon Exclusive Clipso London, London Pure Aveda Lifestyle, Swansea Smile, Ascot Retail Salon of the Year Sponsored by TIGI Frances Hunter Hair & Beauty, Stirling Hair @Jibe, Carlisle Jazz Number One Hair Studio, Leeds Migele Experience, Kirkcaldy Marketing Award Sponsored by Kemon Sarah Hodge Hairdressing, Taunton hug8, Uxbridge Maxwells Professional Hairdressing & Beauty, Biggleswadde Reflections, Bristol The Lounge, Truro Michael Van Clarke LLP, London Voodou, Liverpool Innovation of the Year (Including Website of the Year) Sponsored by REM 10 Hairdressing, Hull city.boy Limited, Barking Ramsay & Johnson, Sunderland Mahogany Hairdressing, London Rae Palmer Hairdressing, Southsea Barrie Stephen Hairdressing, Leicester The Chapel, Tonbridge Wells Tangle Teezer, London Business Director of the Year Sponsored by Hairdressers Journal International Tracey Devine, Angels Hairdressing, Aberdeen Andrew Phouli, Rush London, London Ken Picton, Ken Picton, Cardiff Lisa Shepherd, Lisa Shepherd Salons, Kidderminster Scott Smurfthwaite, Cream, Gloucester Phil Smith, Toni & Guy, Salisbury Barrie Stephen, Barrie Stephen Hairdressing, Leicester For further information on the British Hairdressing Business Awards please contact Alison Jameson or Rachael Ross at Alison Jameson Consultants on +44 131 621 7210, fax +44 131 621 7215 or email; email@example.com This press release was distributed by ResponseSource Press Release Wire on behalf of AJC93 in the following categories: Men's Interest, Entertainment & Arts, Women's Interest & Beauty, Business & Finance, Education & Human Resources, Media & Marketing, for more information visit https://pressreleasewire.responsesource.com/about.
