The new service called “Sainsbury’s Compare and Save in association with Simplifydigital” will enable Sainsbury’s customers to save time, hassle and most significantly money on their broadband, digital TV and home phone services. Sainsbury’s customers will be offered Simplifydigital’s free and impartial “digital consultation” to talk through their requirements and match them to the best deals from over 15,000 package combinations from all the key UK suppliers. These include 3, AOL, BT, Orange, O2, Setanta, Sky, Talk Talk, Topup TV and Virgin Media. Sainsbury’s is the first retailer to launch the free service which can save customers around £160 a year. The new service, which launched in over 80 stores around the country on August 27th and will soon be available nationwide, will enable customers to sign up immediately to their chosen deal and the experts will be on hand seven days a week to support them through the installation process. Alternatively, customers can be sent a copy of their individual consultation document to review at home before making a decision. Sainsbury’s customers will be ensured completely impartial advice as Simplifydigital is the only retailer of digital TV, broadband and home phone services in the UK to have received the official accreditation of impartiality from Ofcom for its price comparison calculator. It comes after it was revealed that Britons are wasting a staggering £400 million a year by buying separate broadband, digital TV and home telephony services instead of getting two or more services in a ‘bundle’ from the same supplier.
