- PartnerTech to provide printed circuit board assembly, sub-system build and test services across Snap-On Diagnostics’ range of gas analyser and emissions products
KING’S LYNN, England, September 4, 2008 - Snap-on Diagnostics, part of Snap-on Incorporated, a leading global innovator, manufacturer and marketer of tool, diagnostic and equipment solutions for professional tool users, has selected PartnerTech, one of Europe’s leading contract manufacturing companies, to provide printed circuit board assembly, sub-system build and test services across its range of gas analyser and emissions products.
Snap-On’s team at King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England, needed an experienced and local outsourcing partner to help meet the aggressive 48-hour order-to-delivery schedule for its market-leading emissions products. These include the DGA 2500 Diagnostic Gas Analyser and Emissions platform and accessories, which are marketed under the Sun Diagnostics brand name.
The DGA 2500 is a PC-based emissions tester which provides modern vehicle workshops with an expandable tool which is VOSA (Vehicle and Operator Services Agency) approved for UK MoT emissions testing and comes as standard with wireless RPM and oil temperature measurement capability. The product is used extensively throughout the automotive aftermarket.
Trevor Wootton, purchasing manager at Snap-on Diagnostics in King’s Lynn, said: “We selected PartnerTech because their bid was very competitive and they were able to offer us a wide range of product lifecycle services in very close proximity to our King’s Lynn facility. In addition, we know and trust their team and they have worked tirelessly with us to meet the 48-hour order-to-delivery schedule on our latest emissions products without compromising on quality.”
Snap-on Diagnostics is recognised as a market leader in diagnostics and emissions products for the automotive aftermarket, and has a growing reputation in the air conditioning equipment services sector and as a supplier of brake, suspension and safety systems diagnostic and test equipment.
“We have a reputation for developing innovative and highly competitive products and services for our customers. By partnering with one of Europe’s largest contract manufacturers, we have been able to streamline our own supply chain, reduce inventory and better manage the inevitable peaks and troughs in our sales cycle,” added Trevor Wootton. “It has also allowed us to focus our in-house resources on new product development, sales, marketing, and, importantly, to better support our customers!”
PartnerTech is one of Europe’s largest business-to-business contract manufacturing companies with 13 manufacturing centres and some 1,700 employees at sites in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, the UK, the United States and China. The Snap-on Diagnostics business will be fulfilled out of PartnerTech’s UK manufacturing facility at King’s Lynn.
PartnerTech in King’s Lynn offers its customers the full range of product lifecycle services, including product design/development, prototyping, NPI, test solutions, printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), full system build, logistics, distribution and after sales. The company works in partnership with original equipment manufacturers across the automotive, medical, aerospace & defence, industrial and telecoms markets.
Gary Howse, managing director of PartnerTech’s UK operation, said: “The Snap-on name is synonymous with quality and service in the automotive aftermarket and we are delighted to have been selected as a strategic outsourcing partner for their market-leading gas analyser and emissions products.”
