A commercial solicitor is to follow in the steps of the Incas - and is aiming to raise £5,000 in sponsorship for a children’s charity in Peru.

Sarah Ferdinand of Ferdinand Kelly Commercial Solicitors based in Tamworth and who lives in Coventry, is off to Peru in November for a 10,000 feet high trek along the Inca Trail in the Andes.

The visit has been arranged by Project Peru, a children’s refuge in a desert shanty towns of Lima, Peru.

Ms Ferdinand said,
“I first became aware of Project Peru from my daughter and her friends at Medical School.

I leave on 14th November and am there for a total of two weeks. Whilst there I will be visiting the refuge and meeting some of the people working in Project Peru, and then taking the Inca Trail from Cusco in the Andes.

I am hoping to raise £5,000 to assist with transport, a library, a vocational work room and a kitchen garden.

The refuge provides food, shelter and support for children and families in need. It also distributes a variety of supplies both in the refuge and the interior of Peru.

I would welcome offers of sponsorship and support from local businesses and individuals.
