Atlanta Technology, hosted technology specialists, today announced that it has successfully deployed the corporate network infrastructure for Turquoise Trading, the new European equity trading venue. Developed for resilience, scalability and to meet the FSA regulatory standards, Atlanta Technology has implemented a secure hosted virtual server model to manage Turquoise’s complete corporate IT needs.

Founded by nine of Europe’s largest investment banks, Turquoise competes with existing exchanges as well as other MTFs and gives traders more choice of a liquidity venue. Launching in September 2008, the new exchange expects a critical mass of natural liquidity from day one and will provide an open trading platform from which all participants will be treated equally.

In total, Atlanta Technology has deployed 70 PCs with 14 hosted servers, which includes email servers, domain controllers, a remote FalconStor CDP disaster recovery solution, a BlackBerry server to support Turquoise’s 30+ devices, a terminal server, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and a CRM server. Atlanta Technology also recommended a number of specialist providers in the area of telephony, backup office and network providers.

Confirms Yann L’Huillier, Chief Technology Officer, Turquoise Trading: “In our industry, network uptime and data security is critical and, as a result, we partnered with Atlanta Technology to deliver a highly resilient infrastructure that can fully scale as we grow. When establishing a corporate network you have two choices; to build and maintain your own IT centre and load the organisation with high overheads and capital expenditure, or you can chose a hosted model and work with an IT partner that has the skill to deliver a high quality infrastructure, that meets all the required regulations and is fully maintained. By opting for the hosted model, we are able to concentrate on our core trading business needs while Atlanta looks after our overall IT network requirements.”

As part of a three year contract, Atlanta Technology has established a number of strict Service Level Agreements that deliver guarantees of service and uptime to Turquoise. Atlanta is expecting to exceed the target SLA of 99.99% uptime on these servers, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Simon Kelson, managing director, Atlanta Technology said: “The hosted solution provides secure protection to Turquoise’s business-critical applications and enables the business to run smoothly, even in the event of a local network outage. We have designed a robust, secure private network infrastructure that works alongside Turquoise’s state-of-the-art trading platform and delivers full regulatory compliancy, which includes security, auditing, data protection and retention.”
