London – September 10, 2008 – For immediate release:
MEGA, a major enterprise architecture (EA), business process analysis (BPA), and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) solutions provider, will participate as a sponsor at IRM Risk Forum 2008, the Institute of Risk Management’s annual flagship conference on trends and best practice in risk management. Sub-titled ‘Raising the game’, the event will take place at the University of Hertfordshire, de Havilland Campus, Hatfield, from Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 of September, 2008.
The global software and consultancy services supplier will provide sponsorship for the keynote presentation by Mr Rick Haythornthwaite, chairman of the UK government’s initiative formed in January this year, the Risk and Regulation Advisory Council. Mr Haythornthwaite will present a paper on Tuesday, September 16, from 16:00 to 16:45, entitled ‘Responding to risk: rights, responsibilities and reaction’. He will talk about the innovative work of the Council in promoting more proportionate responses to risk in policy making across Whitehall and the public sector.
“MEGA is pleased to sponsor both such an eminent speaker and a key topic at the IRM Risk Forum. As risk continues to dominate the news, public attention, and business agendas, we fully support all public and private sector initiatives to improve governance, risk and compliance,” said Ludovic Relandeau, vice president of UK operations, MEGA.
The IRM’s Chief Executive, Steve Fowler, commented, “We are delighted to have a leading solutions provider such as MEGA supporting risk management education by sponsoring this important presentation.”
Aimed at individuals with responsibility for risk management at every level, the IRM conference is an important event and part of the institution’s primary aim of providing high quality education and continuous professional development (CPD) for its members.
Besides Rick Haythornthwaite, the event will also feature other keynote speakers such as General Sir Mike Jackson, former Chief of the General Staff for the British Army, and Shami Chakrabarti, director of the human rights group Liberty. Many other experts will be presenting topical papers about case studies, issues and trends, and the programme includes a number of practical, interactive workshops.
