Classics Illustrated will be back on the bookshelves again after 40 years!

Jeff Brooks, MD of Classic Comic Store Ltd and a collector and authority on classic comics and graphic novels will present the history of these enduring classics, and explain why he is re-launching Classics Illustrated and Classics Illustrated Junior.

First published in 1941 the series were a runaway success, at their peak over 3 million were printed monthly, and were translated into 20 foreign languages.

Classics Illustrated is a comic strip series of books featuring adaptations of literary classics such as Oliver Twist, Robin Hood, and The Man in the Iron Mask. The Junior series adapts classical fairy tales and folk stories from legends such as Hans Christian Anderson and the Brothers Grimm, in comic form. All the illustrations have been digitally enhanced to give a fresh feel to the original highly acclaimed drawings.

This is a timely launch as Classics Illustrated supports the Government initiative to improve literacy in school age children.
