In a recent OnePoint mobile phone survey, employed by Hodgson School, a designated Technology College for students aged 11-16, a massive 96% of the parents surveyed said that they enjoyed using mobile surveys to give feedback to the school.

At the Key Stage 3 Steps Evening, designed to provide parents of year 7 students with all the information they need to ensure their child takes the right steps to success, the school asked parents for their feedback via mobile phone. The free and anonymous mobile survey was used to find out their views about the event as well as gain an insight into their willingness and interest in participating in mobile phone surveys as a way of giving feedback to the school.

The vast majority of parents said that they like mobile surveys because they are quick and easy to use. One parent commented that by using the mobile phone they felt certain that the information got to the desired location rather than it sitting in the bottom of a mail bag. Another parent commented on the speed of the system, noting that as the system responded straight away they felt like the feedback was useful.

Stephen Cooke, Lead Teacher for ELearning, said ’’In the past we have used paper questionnaires which took many hours to collate and analyse. I am extremely pleased that our parents see the value in using this mobile method of gathering feedback as it gives them a better opportunity to get involved.
