When silence isn’t golden and Greensleeves just won’t do.

Research shows that up to 70% of callers are put on hold for forty five to fifty seconds and up to 50% of callers will hang up in less than a minute when put on hold. Retell, the Sunbury on Thames based call recording specialists are therefore championing the drive to improve the professional image of home workers and small, medium and large businesses with a cost effective range of music and announcement on hold players (MOH).

Retell’s VGP range of MOH players includes the VGP 30 the only device in the UK designed for use with a desktop telephone handset. A simple trigger switch on the top of the VGP 30 puts callers on hold to soothing music and comfort announcements.

There are four products in the VGP 30 range with the most basic, the Satellite, including three royalty free* music tracks and three comfort announcements. Customised messages are available with the VGP 30 Custom as well as music and announcement mixing software available in the Standard and text to speech software available in the PRO. Affordable, reliable, music and announcements are now available for any business with or without an office telephone system (PABX) from only £180

For businesses with a PABX Retell’s new VGP 20 is a reliable solid sate MOH player with one royalty free music track and one announcement for only £110. For the IT Manager or Telecomms Manager the VGP 30 Rack with five music tracks and five messages is suitable for rack mounting into an existing comms cabinet.

Retell claims that the payback for companies choosing their customised message option will not only be happier customers but also customers who may decide to make a purchase based on an announcement they have heard whilst on hold.

Music on hold facts

Music on hold (MOH) devices have in the past attracted a heavy rental charge or required connection to a telephone system (PABX). In addition small businesses or sole traders without a phone system and with only one or two phones have not been able to use MOH devices. Music and announcements need to be *royalty free and unsuspecting businesses have fallen foul of The Performing Rights Society by copying music onto a cheap CD player and using this for their ‘on hold’ requirements. Retell’s VGP range includes solid state or SD card technology thereby eliminating the low reliability associated with existing CD MOH players. All of the Retell music and announcements are recorded with royalties paid.
