Mobile marketing entrepreneur Alex Meisl has launched skins4things, a new product personalisation company providing custom-made ‘skins’ for laptops, iPods, games consoles and mobile phones.

skins4things design and produce high quality adhesive vinyl skins which fit and stick to a wide range of electronic devices. Skins allow brands to differentiate their products, inject style and personality and get their message across.

Mobile operator 3, Toshiba and human rights charity Amnesty International are among the first corporate clients skins4things has won. The company’s creative department works closely with each brand to develop bespoke skins for their customers, and also offers a fitting service.

Meisl - who previously co-founded and chairs mobile marketing company Sponge, growing the business to a £5m turnover since 2001 - believes this is the perfect time to launch his new venture.

“Market projections for electronic device personalisation will exceed $5bn by the end of the decade,” said Alex Meisl, co-founder of skins4things. “skins4things opens up exciting new opportunities for brands and manufacturers to fulfil the demand for personalisation, allowing them and their customers to inject individuality into their products quickly and cost-effectively.”

All skins are manufactured in the UK, offering the benefit of rapid turnaround times. skins4things uses high quality 3M material with ‘Comply Performance’ adhesive which is pressure activated, allows for repositioning and can be removed without leaving any residue. The material avoids air bubbles and is laminated to protect against minor knocks and scratches.

Skins can be used for PR and promotions, corporate branding, gift with purchase and introducing limited editions inexpensively at short notice.

skins4things also has a retail and white-label offering which will be launched in major stores during Q4 this year.
