A simple toy which at first glance appears to be three balls on a piece of string has many hidden depths.
Take a look at Astrojax more closely you find that this is a great educational toy that shouldn’t be left to the dedicated fans posting YouTube videos showing their new tricks and discussing the toy on the numerous social network groups dedicated to the toy.
Astrojax, a cross between a yo yo and juggling balls is three precision weighted foam balls attached by a piece of string with the middle ball freely moving can be used to form a variety of juggling and acrobatic tricks.
Using the Astrojax to attempt a vast array of tricks is a great way of providing young people aged from 7 onwards with a means of improving their levels of concentration, co-ordination skills and improve dexterity. Astrojax is a skill which can be quickly picked up and children will quickly be able to master the basic tricks described.
Head of the Special Educational Needs Service in Wakefield Eileen Warburton said, “With motor coordination problems being increasingly diagnosed, schools are always in search of ways of helping children with these particular problems. Finding a toy that appeals to the child and that brings positive educational benefits is great news. Astrojax is particularly good for visual motor integration.”
Astrojax is also a great way of communicating to children some of the basic science principals which are often difficult to get over in a fun and exciting way. The fast spinning motion of the Astrojax balls is based on the physical principles of rotational dynamics and can be used as a highly effective way to demonstrate planetary and orbital motion, rotational dynamics, friction and centripetal force.

Astrojax is one of those rare toys that both educationalists and children will love. Whether using the Astrojax on a one to one basis or as part of a larger group teachers and health professionals will find that this simple toy has far reaching benefits.
