Glass and frame repair and replacement company Solaglas Windowcare has scooped the top award in the 2008 Rotherham Business Awards, held last Friday (October 24).
The company was named Business of the Year by the judging panel which highlighted the firm’s investments in training, technology and customer service.
Part of the Saint-Gobain Group, Solaglas Windowcare employs 400 people nationwide and provides nationwide 24-hour emergency repair and replacement service for glazing, windows and doors. Clients include many of the UK’s leading insurance companies and claims intermediaries, public sector agencies and retailers.
In a successful evening attended by businesses in the area, the firm gained top honours in two further categories – Investing in Skills and Excellence in Business and was runner up in the Customer Services and Innovation categories.
Ian Davy, managing director at Solaglas Windowcare said: “We have made great strides over the past six years, grown the business and attracted major clients, so we are particularly pleased to walk away with this award, especially against such tough competition.
“The success of the company has been underpinned by a commitment to providing our clients and their customers with an unrivalled level of service, delivered from the first call, right through to the service delivered on the ground by our engineers.
The Rotherham Business Awards is organised by the Rotherham and Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce. The winners were announced at a glittering black-tie event to be held at MAGNA, a science centre near Rotherham.
