ByBox, the UK’s leading force in in-night parts and equipment distribution, has further increased its presence within the marketplace with the acquisition of BearBox’ drop box business.
BearBox operates the only carrier-independent drop box network in the UK, with over 200 electronic drop box locations, and serves as an ideal complement to the ByBox network.
ByBox’ intention is to continue to market BearBox as an independent network. Stuart Miller, ByBox CEO, commented: “We have always been open-minded about working with other carriers in the UK. The BearBox acquisition is a great step forward in providing a carrier-independent network”.
ByBox’ core service offering is the development, delivery and support of an extensive range of distribution platforms for organisations operating large mobile field teams.
The acquisition is an exciting development for ByBox which currently holds over 70 per cent of the specialist field service market in the UK and makes 20 million deliveries annually.
BearBox, which was originally formed in 2000, is known for being progressive and innovative. Along with ByBox, it was one of the first companies to provide a high-tech solution to the delivery of time critical spare parts and materials to field service engineers and was one of the early pioneers of drop box consumer solutions.
Together the two businesses form a formidable force and the acquisition marks an exciting new era for ByBox.
In recent years ByBox has expanded at an incredible rate with revenue growing from £119,235 in 2002 to £24 million in 2007 representing a growth of a staggering 1,340 per cent. Turnover this year is expected to be in the region of £28 million. This latest move by the company will further enhance this growth, laying the foundations for an exciting year in 2009.
ByBox CEO Stuart Miller: “We have always admired BearBox’ approach to innovation and desire to pioneer into new markets. This attitude sits well with ByBox’ commitment to deliver inventive supply chain solutions, both in the field service and online delivery sectors. We are looking forward to working with BearBox over the next phase of our growth.”
