London, November 20 2008 – A new forum has been announced by consulting firm BroadGroup. Powered by Cloud– the rise and meaning of Cloud Computing is the first European debate that will offer industry
leaders the opportunity to consider the coming changes, position their organizations to take advantage of them, and network with clients and providers in this fast-moving space. The forum takes place in London 2-3 February 2009.
The organisers believe that Cloud Computing has the potential to be the biggest change to the technology industry since the emergence of the World Wide Web.
"As the world economy tips into recession, cloud offers huge potential cost savings to all corporate IT users, plus global business opportunities to deliver new products and services. Cloud computing also makes it possible for companies to reduce significantly their environmental footprint by dramatically cutting the amount of energy required to deliver existing levels of technology," commented Tim Jackson, the conference chairman.
With a stellar line up of speakers including Akamai, Bitcurrent, Canonical, CohesiveFT, Colosa, Credit Suisse, Elastichosts, Google, Opsource, Quest, RightScale, Xcalibre, and Zimory plus more to be announced, the event will provide a valuable learning experience and compelling content. The programme covers how to make money from cloud computing, and the implications for Corporate and IT, Finance and Investors, ISPs and Data Centres, and consumers. The technologies session will assess obstacles to roll out and the innovations that will overcome them. The forum concludes with “How Cloud Computing will change the world”, looking at the far horizon and strategic issues now facing CEOs, CIOs and CTOs.
Taking place at a critical time, given the concentration of enterprises on discovering new ways in which technology can be leveraged to accelerate service delivery, reduce costs and offer competitive advantage, the forum will provide wide ranging insight into the meaning of cloud computing and the opportunities and challenges it represents. It also debates concerns most relevant to government, the defence establishment, professional legal intermediaries and civil liberties.
For those registering early, the 2-day forum offers super-early-bird discounts which expire 30 November 2008.
