1st December 2008: Brother Max is delighted to announce its success at this year’s Mother & Baby Awards 2008. In its first year of trading, Brother Max won:
Most Innovative Product - Gold Award ………………… 3-in-1 Thermometer
Best Nursery Product - Silver Award ……………… 3-in-1 Thermometer
Best Feeding Product from Weaning - Bronze Award … Food Portioners
In announcing the Gold Award for Most Innovative Product, Mother & Baby magazine editor Miranda Levy said “The judging panel agreed that Brother Max’s 3-in-1 Thermometer truly is an extra-special and unique product that is great value for money and really makes life easier for mum. Genius!”
This year’s awards were particularly competitive, with 668 product entries from 162 different companies at the outset. 357 of these went forward to consumer testing culminating in 4,452 test results from professional judges and Mother & Baby readers. Ellie Hughes, editor of Pregnancy & Birth magazine, confirmed that “never before has a new brand won three awards in their first year”.

Jonathan Gold started work on the product and brand ideas that were to become Brother Max in 2005. The company was established in October 2006, and launched its first four products in the UK in January 2008. February saw Brother Max launch in Ireland, while March saw another two products launched at the Harrogate Nursery Fair. Launches in Belgium and the Netherlands followed in May 2008, then a further two products in August. Recognition swiftly followed with the Dutch Baby Wereld Award (October) and three Mother & Baby Awards including the Gold Award for Most Innovative Product (November).
