The Foundry Pub Brighton

an independently owned, traditional public house

Popular Brighton pub The Foundry is launching its Sunday Night Music Club, a series of intimate live shows from a diverse collection of talented and original local performers.

Oft-patronised by local luminaries from bands such as Primal Scream, Saint Etienne and Brighton’s very own band of Morris Men, it seemed only natural for The Foundry to launch its own pub music night. Here are this year's dates for your diary:

Sunday 7th December: Longtomb (country boys go wild in the city)
Sunday 14th December: Samuel Arts Quartet (gypsy jazz with a Parisian swing)
Sunday 28th December: Ian Louis Tracy (blues and roots from a real Brighton bluesman

A true Brighton pub, The Foundry (formerly known as The Pedestrian Arms) is that Brighton rarity, an independently owned, traditional public house, worlds away from the ubiquitous chain bars masquerading as independents that have come to dominate pubs in Brighton. With an open fire, ancient Chesterfield sofas and a genuine classic decor that has been used for everything from film shoots to design magazine features, The Foundry is a truly local British pub.

Tucked away just off the beaten track of Brighton's North Laine, The Foundry is located mid-terrace in a historic backstreet. Landlord Ian Coleman said, “Here you'll miss the crowds of tourists and first year uni students that fill the other bars in Brighton. Instead you'll be in the company of a small but growing band of devotees, as likely to be media professionals as the foundry workers the pub was originally built to service.” Serving a changing cast list of properly kept real ales, tending towards the local, seasonal and organic, The Foundry’s prevailing purpose remains as a watering-hole, offering only our delicious pizzas to soak up our specialties.
