WILDBAR has so many unique nutritional features compared to other nutrition bars that we may have opened a new category in natural foods: the Superfood Mind Bar
Simply Vital Ltd, the holistic health company, has just launched in the UK two cacao (cocoa) based nutrition bars designed to improve concentration and mood. Suitable for children and adults: WILDBAR - the healthy choice to improve performance at school and work.
Managing Director, Janice Wilson says, “WILDBAR has so many unique nutritional features compared to other nutrition bars that we may have opened a new category in natural foods: the Superfood Mind Bar.”
WILDBAR is an all raw and organic blend of the highest quality whole foods including: cacao, wild blue-green algae, a specific extract from the algae rich in phenylethylamine (PEA), macadamia nuts, hemp seeds, maca root powder and mesquite.
PEA is a molecule found in the brain and in only two foods: raw chocolate [cacao] and the blue-green algae Aphanizomenon flos aquae (AFA) from Upper Klamath Lake. Taken orally PEA is able to cross the blood brain barrier to improve concentration and mental acuity and promote feelings of joy and calm.
The combination of raw cacao and wild blue-green algae extract packs 30mg of PEA into each bar making this a unique product! Most chocolate (even dark) does not deliver much PEA because of the heavy heating and processing involved in chocolate manufacture, which destroys most of the PEA molecule found in raw cacao. This high level of PEA is valuable for various reasons:
~ Children needing to improve attention/concentration and reduce hyperactivity
~ Students needing increased mental clarity and energy
~ Executives needing increased mental acuity and physical energy
~ People suffering with low mood/depression/SAD
WILDBAR has a very low glycaemic index because it is sweetened only with dark blue agave nectar and can be safely eaten by diabetics since it has been shown to stabilise blood sugar for 4-6 hours without the normal spiking and blood sugar drop of other foods.
WILDBAR also delivers 55% of the RDA of fibre and over 50% of the RDA of Vitamin B12. It is also a rich source of Omega-3 fatty acids and has an ORAC (antioxidant) rating of 8768 per bar. WILDBAR is certified organic, vegan, Kosher, gluten-free and non GMO.
And did we mention… WILDBAR is delicious and available in two flavours;
Mayan Spice - Imbued with vanilla powder, orange rind, cinnamon, and a hint of cayenne; a variation of the ancient way cacao (chocolate) was enjoyed by the Mayans. This is rich and warming as it invigorates the blood as well as the taste buds.
Mountain Mint- Flavoured with essential oil of peppermint, this bar cools your mouth while it energises your being.
WILDBAR is available from www.simplyvital.com and costs £3 per bar

Wild Klamath blue-green algae (AFA)
Klamath algae, if processed using the Refractance Window® technology, contains a significant amount of phenylethylamine (PEA), the brain amino acid directly responsible for increasing the activation and transmission of important neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine. PEA has been shown to promote better mood, relieve stress, help with moderate to serious depressions (supplementation with 10-60mg of PEA was able to cure 60% of clinically diagnosed depressions (1)), and possibly solve problematic yet still not clearly diagnosed conditions such as ADHD (2). Indeed, PEA has been named "the molecule of love" due to its increased endogenous production in states such as intense concentration, joyful activities and love (3).
