Cosmetic surgery clinics are feeling the effects of the recession and have started offering substantial price cuts on their procedures and treatments in a bid to attract more customers, it was previously thought that the cosmetic surgery industry was recession-proof, however the waiting lists and the number of people cancelling their already booked procedures tell a different story, this has led to more clinics now offering lower prices for the procedures they offer. An example of how much cosmetic surgery prices has been reduced comes from Victoria , 29, London “I had gone for a consultation a couple of weeks back because I was interested in having a tummy tuck, I was quoted £5,300, I was recently called back by the clinic and they had reduced it by a whopping £1,150”.

Peter Nwankwo, of cosmetic surgery search engine, said: “The credit crunch means people are not willing to spend on what is not considered a necessity, which obviously means the cosmetic surgery industry will experience a drop in customers. In order to meet sales targets clinics are now reducing their prices in order to entice consumers, however we still urge that people considering cosmetic surgery should not let price be the deciding factor”.
