Islington Council takes action to ensure the reliability of its online services

Islington Council has implemented RestorePoint, an integrated hardware and software solution, designed by TADASoft, to enable central management of the configuration settings of all the various components within the Council’s IT networks infrastructure.

“Keeping track of configuration settings can be a pain for the Network administrators,” explains TADASoft director, Rory Nolan. “There is a potential risk that someone could make an incorrect or unauthorised change to a network device, causing a loss of service performance and subsequent inconvenience and disruption, which may be costly.”

Although there are a number of ways to back up data and put contingencies in place, Islington Council wanted a robust solution that could not only capture but also restore the configuration settings of the network appliances, if necessary.
Islington Council is delighted with the RestorePoint solution. Its ease of use and minimal maintenance requirements have transformed the pain-staking processes that they had to go through previously. Ingi Ossurarson, Senior Exchange and AD Administrator at Islington Council has used it for over 12 months and he says he would recommend it to other users with similar network infrastructure.

RestorePoint allows users to roll back a configuration change, therefore avoiding costly downtime and security risks to their network. Multiple administrators can use RestorePoint to manage configuration backups for a variety of switches, routers, firewalls, proxies and other network appliances from multiple vendors.
