Leading fabric and wallcoverings firm, Wilman Interiors, has announced that it has taken over the Cheshire-based interiors brand, nono.
From 5 January 2009, nono will trade from Wilman Interiors’ premises in Burnley, Lancashire and will be managed as a standalone brand alongside the Wilman Interiors product ranges, which are sold through independent retailers across the UK and in over 30 countries worldwide.
Company founder, Gill Nono, will also relocate with the firm as creative director, to maintain nono’s design direction for edgy, trend-based fabric and wallcoverings. The nono collections will allow the Wilman Interiors business to cater for a broader customer base, with product ranges that appeal to a younger, fashion-focussed market.
Wilman Interiors’ brand heritage spans 18 years, during which time the firm has developed a reputation for quality and timeless design. Following a successful management buyout and relocation to new premises in Burnley last year, the company has invested in new collections and technology to remain at the forefront of British interior design. Popularity with emerging markets such as China and Russia has further boosted the firm’s growth.
The Wilman Interiors’ brand occupies the upper end of the interiors market, offering both traditional and contemporary design schemes. Design manager, Michelle Todd, is credited with the success of Wilman Interiors’ latest collections, which have been well received throughout the UK and overseas.
Says managing director, Mike Beckett: “It made perfect sense to bring nono into the Wilman Interiors business, as the product offering is entirely different to the Wilman Interiors’ ranges, and will enable us to attract a much wider customer base. It is fantastic to have Gill onboard as creative director and we are looking forward to building both brands in 2009.”
