Bristol, declared one of Europe's top ten destinations by DK Eyewitness Guides, now has a tourist information site to match its many attractions. The newly redesigned website Visitbristol.co.uk offers impartial advice, but better still, all the functionality and accessibility you’d expect from an e-commerce site.

Bristol based award-winning marketing, design and communications agency Proctor and Stevenson worked closely with the Destination Bristol team to disseminate a wealth of information about the city in a more web-friendly format. Now visitors – from business people to backpackers – can plan trips then make bookings for accommodation and attractions, all in just a couple of clicks.

Designed to encourage visitors to discover just how much the South West’s booming first city offers, visitbristol.co.uk balances usability with inspiration. This one-stop-shop helps visitors discover where to eat, drink, play and stay, whether they plan to visit for weekend breaks or longer stays. But more than that, every page features a useful search-and-book function and a click-to-pick itinerary generator so appealing options are never lost.

Information is regularly updated so visitors never miss a big event – the site’s content management system means Destination Bristol can add new details quickly and easily.

Steve Cook, Web Marketing Executive at Destination Bristol has high hopes for the site:
“Bristol was recently described as one of Europe’s top ten cities to visit by DK Eyewitness Guides, and we hope this new site will show potential visitors exactly why. But more than that, we’re hoping to set new standards in usability, fusing all the resources you’d expect from a tourist information site with a more user-centric approach. The sharp, clear design from Proctors & Stevenson and user-friendly search and booking functionality has helped to create a site where visitors can quickly and easily find what they want in the shortest number of steps possible.”
