Xsigo I/O Director significantly reduces operational expenditure and supports customer’s green IT requirements within the datacentre

London, UK: Atlanta Technology, hosted technology and virtualisation specialists, has today announced it has expanded its virtualisation product portfolio to include Xsigo Systems’ I/O virtualisation solutions. Atlanta Technology selected Xsigo’s award-winning I/O solution to offer customers the ability to lower server-related operating expenses by up to 80%, use up to 30% less I/O related power, reduce capital costs by up to 50%, and use 70% less cabling, resulting in 100x faster server management.

The Xsigo I/O Director is ideal for public sector and commercial organisations that are looking to identify efficiencies across the network, whilst reducing both operational costs and the carbon footprint.

Simon Kelson, managing director, Atlanta Technology said: “At Atlanta, we are always looking to add innovative products to our portfolio which support our ethos in helping customers increase productivity yet reduce operational overheads. The Xsigo I/O Director helps drive out complexities of a virtualised server environment, enables virtual resources to be deployed on the fly and delivers substantial operational and cost savings.”

Adds Paul Goodridge, UK Director, Xsigo: “There are many benefits to adopting a virtualised IT model, however the consolidation of servers can also bring additional complexities. The Xsigo solutions strip out this complexity to allows organisations to consolidate concurrently up to 64 Ethernet and Fibre Channel sessions per server, providing more granular use of bandwidth and assured Quality of Service. What this means to customers is they benefit from a substantial reduction in running costs and a more efficient, green IT model with reduced power usage and less physical space required to house the infrastructure.”
