Contemporary fiction writers, poets and illustrators are all set to be part of this year's Imagine Children's Literature Festival, which takes place at the Southbank Centre in London next month.

Discussions, workshops and readings will take place, with some of the biggest names in narrative due to make appearances.

Carol Ann Duffy is set to show off her new fairytale - The Princess Blankets - as part of the event on Friday February 13th, while Cathy Cassidy will read from her work Ginger Snaps before answering questions readers have been dying to ask on Friday February 20th.

James Campbell will also return to the Southbank Centre on Saturday February 14th to present Comedy 4 Kids, which is also suitable for youngsters' parents.

Meanwhile, the Clore Ballroom will play host to a day dedicated to the Gamelan, an Indonesian percussion orchestra on Saturday February 21st, which will also involve dance events, poetry and storytelling.

Tickets for the events cost £7 for adults and £4 for children, while some of the showcases are completely free to enjoy.
