Pioneering brand Victorinox, famous for the timeless design & manufacture of the Original Swiss Army Knife, announces its role as an associate partner in the hosting of the Le Corbusier exhibition at the Barbican, from 19th February to 24th May 2009. The ‘Art of Architecture’ exhibition is a major retrospective of the work of the ‘founding father’ of modernism. Victorinox opened its first European Flagship Store at 95/96 New Bond Street W1 in November 2008 and is now established in the UK.

As two inspirational caretakers of the Swiss design pool, Victorinox and Le Corbusier are closely linked. Both embody innovation through the progression of design. Precision, quality, functionality, usefulness and longevity are among the fundamental values driving Victorinox to design products that are sought after the world over as both iconic and to be trusted for life.

Carl Elsener Jr. comments “Victorinox is honoured to be supporting the Le Corbusier exhibition in London. A fellow Swiss, Corbusier has inspired the design identity and style of the modern world through his unique vision in the interpretation of space and form for its very best use. These values inspire our own work and of course, Le Corbusier demonstrates beautifully the Swiss design ethic is very much at the forefront of modernism”.

Victorinox has evolved into a global premium brand with a diverse and expanding product range of Timepieces, Travel Gear, Fashion, Fragrances and Cutlery all of which share the original characteristics and ingenuity of the Original Swiss Army Knife.
