Gaucho Piccadilly presents a one-off opportunity for guests to enjoy an intimate dinner with Federico Benegas Lynch, a charismatic banker turned winemaker, from Bodega Benegas, a family winery in Argentina.
The ‘Meet the Winemaker’ dinner will be held in the Cavas de Gaucho at Gaucho’s Piccadilly Restaurant, Swallow Street, London on 16th of February at 7pm. The event will be co-hosted by Phil Crozier, Gaucho Wine Buyer, and Jessica Closs, Gaucho Sommelier.
Federico Benegas Lynch is a 3rd generation winemaker, born in the family winery in 1951. The Benegas history dates back to 1883, when Tiburcio Benegas; considered one of the first three pioneers of the Argentine wine industry was credited with introducing French vines to Argentina. As Governor of the wine growing province of Mendoza, Tiburcio set up the Bank of Mendoza, and encouraged investment into vineyard plantings and the construction of dams.
Phil Crozier, Gaucho Wine Buyer comments;
“We have been looking forward to hosting Federico for some time now, as he is a genuine part of Argentine Winemaking history. His wines are strong on personality, powerful and elegant. This is the first of many Cavas de Gaucho 'Meet the Winemaker' experiences that we will be offering to Gaucho guests.”
Later in the year the Gaucho Restaurants will host ‘Meet the Winemaker’ dinners with José Alberto Zuccardi of Familia Zuccardi; Jose Manuel of O’Fournier Wines and Susanna Balbo.
