CeBIT – March 3-8 2009 - Hall 11, Stand B31 – At this year’s CeBIT, privacy software expert Steganos will launch Steganos Privacy Suite Mobile 6, a new security package for smartphones and PDAs based on Windows Mobile 6 Classic and Professional Editions. The company will also demonstrate new enhanced versions of its popular consumer and mobile data privacy solutions: Steganos Privacy Suite 11 and Steganos Safe 11.

Steganos’ mission is to protect consumers’ privacy with easy to use software that protects their data at home, work and on mobile devices, from iPods to USB keys. This focus is reflected in the company’s CeBIT booth, which resembles a gigantic walk-in Safe.

"Our eye-catching and unusual booth will remind all CeBIT visitors of the importance of data protection,” said Michael Marzy, CEO of Steganos. “Everyone has personal digital data that they need to protect, and as consumers buy and use more mobile devices, they need to ensure that their data is not at risk when they are on the move. Our new Steganos Privacy Suite Mobile 6 complements our existing solutions, so consumers can protect their data at home, at work and on the road.”

The Steganos product highlight for CeBIT is Steganos Privacy Suite Mobile 6 (RRP 49.95 Euro), the brand new, all-in-one security package for smartphones and PDAs.

The software includes a ‘mobile safe’, to protect sensitive and personal data including emails, contacts and calendar entries; built-in ‘Crypt & Go’ functionality that encrypts e.g. photos and documents; and a ‘mobile shredder’ that removes old and deleted data permanently.

A ‘mobile password manager’ creates highly secure passwords, and the accompanying ‘PicPass’ enables users to create complex yet memorable passwords through a series of images. A Bluetooth PhoneLock secures the smartphone, protecting it from all unauthorized users.

The other products being demonstrated by Steganos at CeBIT include the new and updated Steganos Safe 11 (RRP 29.95 Euro), which builds on the success of the award-winning previous version with a more user-friendly interface. Steganos Safe allows users to create unlimited virtual safes to protect their data, as well as create portable safes on mobile devices such as iPods and USB sticks. These can also be used as a safe key to open safes on laptops and PCs. Steganos Safe also includes ‘PicPass’ and an improved digital shredder, providing a complete privacy solution.

Also on show is the new Steganos Privacy Suite 11 (RRP 49.95 euro), which also has a new user interface. As well as creating safes, mailbox encryption protects Outlook, Outlook Express and Windows Mail, while a steganography feature hides sensitive data in images or music. A password manager, an encrypted list of favourites, a new digital shredder and internet trace destructor all provide additional protection.

Privacy software is more important than ever. According to Gartner, each year over two million laptops are lost or stolen worldwide. This year, the number of smartphones and PDAs stolen could be as many as ten million. This data on these portable devices could be misused if left unprotected. From a financial loss to the violation of personal rights, everything is possible. "Those who leave their data unprotected could lose a lot more than a laptop or PDA," warns Marzy.
