Dublin, Ireland - WBT Systems,a leading provider of enterprise e-Learning solutions, has announced that Semler, the Danish importer and distributor of Audi, VW, Skoda and SEAT cars, has reported major improvements around the management, planning and administration of sales and technical training for some 4,500 staff, service partners and dealers in Denmark, since implementing the TopClass Learning Management System.

Semler is contractually required by their car manufacturers to provide a training plan for each brand of car they import and distribute. This includes sales and after-sales training for Semler staff members, the sales teams at dealerships and service advisors. Semler launches 15 new car models each year and is tasked not only with training sales staff at its network of 150 dispersed dealerships, but also with carrying out induction training for all Semler employees. The Semler training department is required to provide and manage this demanding schedule of instructor-led classes effectively while also demonstrating to their manufacturers that training plans and requirements are being fulfilled.

Following an in-depth survey of Learning Management Systems available in the market, including the option of building an in-house platform, Semler selected TopClass to power their learning initiative. TopClass offers Semler a single state of the art system, accessible 24/7 to the extended enterprise with course catalogue, online registration, accommodation booking facilities and skills profiles – all available in a selection of language preferences. Course tracking and training statistics are also easily accessible via the reporting engine, enabling Semler to demonstrate compliance with their car manufacturers’ requirements.

Commenting on the learning initiative from Semler, Director of Training, Ole Hansen said, “Today we are managing and administering 5,500 man days of technical training and 4,500 days of sales training -- we would not have been able to handle this volume of training without WBT’s Learning Management System. TopClass has also helped us to plan our training more effectively. Before we implemented the system we had very little visibility of our current or future training requirement. Today, using TopClass, we can determine course volumes, types, frequency, expected attendee levels and accommodation requirements. Having the ability to forecast at this level also means that we can better manage our budgets. The result is a superior training service for Semler dealers, partners and staff!”

Paul Dooley, CEO WBT Systems said, “TopClass is the ideal solution for any organization that needs to provide and manage a demanding training schedule for both employees and the extended enterprise. For Semler it has enabled them to streamline their training operation, boost their course offering and put training into the hands of their dealers, while also satisfying the contractual requirements of their car manufacturers. It’s a win-win situation and we’re delighted that TopClass is powering this initiative.”
