Horror movie fans rejoice! The 27th annual Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film is due to begin in the next months and will showcase the very best in the genre.

The event will occur between Thursday April 9th and Tuesday April 21st and will include premieres, spotlights on specific countries, parties, theatrical workshops and retrospectives.

In addition, a range of prizes will be handed out to filmmakers by an international panel of industry insider and critics. Child-friendly screenings are also planned, meaning youngsters can enjoy the event without having nightmares.

British-Spanish director Alberto Sciamma is set to preside over one of the most eagerly-anticipated elements of this year's showcase - the Workshop Fantasic Brussels.

Its intention is to give visitors the opportunity to become more acquainted with the fantasy genre and previous incarnations of the event have been supervised by industry experts including Freddie Francis, Bernard Rose and Stuart Gordon.
