Exclusive UK Display & Video Ad Deal

[LONDON — 6th March 2009] Media Initiatives Group’s premium online advertising platform, eType, has partnered with music TV website and video distribution platform MUZU.TV. Under the terms of the exclusive deal, eType’s dedicated display and video teams will work together to sell all advertising opportunities on MUZU.TV and across the MUZU video distribution network, which includes www.MUZU TV and embedded players on social networking and partner sites.

This latest deal will see MUZU.TV benefit from eType’s recent decision to create separate display and video sales teams to maximise publisher’s available inventory and provide a more tailored service.

MUZU.TV is a new music video website, which enables labels and bands to broadcast their music TV across the web and get paid 50/50 net ad revenue share, wherever it goes. At MUZU.TV users can create, watch and share music video playlists from the tens of thousands of videos across the site, and embed these on their social networking sites and all across the web.

MUZU.TV provides free access to thousands of hours of diverse music video content including concerts, back-stage footage, documentaries, tutorials, music videos, interviews and classic music TV shows like The Tube. The company has deals in place with hundreds of labels including SONY BMG, as well as broadcasters like ITN.

MUZU.TV offers brands the opportunity to connect with their audiences at passion points where they are consuming their favourite artist’s music video content, and leverage 100% fully-licensed professional content, streamed in high quality, with precise targeting over the placement of campaigns both on and off MUZU.TV. FAN TV overcomes the rights issues surrounding user-generated content, which until now have plagued advertisers and distribution partners when operating online.

Rob Gay, Managing Director at eType, said: “As faster broadband connections become the norm, web users are consuming more and more video content, so the MUZU TV deal is a great opportunity for brands to get in front of a highly engaged audience. eType has demonstrable experience in selling both display and video advertising through our partnerships with leading clients such as Rock You!, hi5 and Mochi Media. The continued growth in social networking and online video is making it increasingly possible for advertisers to closely target ads by identifying a user’s specific areas of interest.”

Commenting on the deal, Ciaran Bollard, Co-founder and Director of Business Development of MUZU TV said: “eType has long-term experience of online video in the UK market and also has a strong record in the social networking field so it was a great fit for us.”
